How to Pack for a Crop

Image
We've all been there.......It's what I like to call the "What to take with me" dilemma.  What do I take or should I take to a crop?? Everything including the kitchen sink? All my papers? All my stamps? How many pictures? What if I need something but for got to pack it? You get the picture. Sometimes we have a tendency to over pack and get nothing accomplished or we under pack and are missing too much of our stuff and can't create the way we would like to. . Hopefully I can help take some of the worry from you and show you how to get the most out of your weekend crop. There are a few coming up in the next few weeks. One at JSI on October 26-27th 2012 and one hosted by Scrapbook and Cards Today called Crop and Create on November 9-th, 2012 .Registration is open for both and I think there are a few spots left at each, so why not call and reserve your spot. Let me show you how to make a kit. This really is the best way to get the most producti

Forever Love

My Grandparents had a love that was epic. You couldn't be in the same room with them or listen to them talk about each other and not experience their love for one another.

Prairie Mermaid

This was a fun page to create. I used Graphic 45 papers and a Tape Transfer Technique to create this page. I used  self-adhesive Laminate instead of tape because I wanted a 12x12 piece. I adhered it to my paper then soaked it in warm water for a minute or two and then carefully rubbed the paper away until I was left with a transparent patterned paper. I then glued it to another piece of paper to get the ripple effect of water underneath. It was a fun page to make. Stop by Just Scrap It and take a look.

Rough and Tough

Here's a very simple and quick layout I did a while back. I was in a use up some of my stash mood so I can't even tell you what paper line I used.

Canvas

Image
I was looking through my finished projects and realized I hadn't posted this canvas that I made for a teacher gift at the end of the school year. I don't remember where the vintage picture is from, sorry. I began by putting a layer of gesso on the  the canvas. I glued the picture down with gel medium.I then took an off set paint spatula and smeared paint all over the canvas. While the paint was still wet I  brushed on some Perfect Pearls .When the paint and gel medium were dry I stamped a script stamp randomly over the canvas, applied the gemstone swirls, trim and stamped the verse. The verse is from Tim Holtz's Good Thoughts stamp set. The flower is made from coffee filters and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist . I added a little extra sparkle to the flower with Ranger Stickles . Check back soon to see the tutorial on how to make them.
