More Calendar Pictures

Image
These are the April, May, June and July pages for the calendar that I made for my Father-in Law for Christmas. It was really hard to condense a years worth of activities into 12 pages. There are many things missing but alas what is a girl to do? This was so much fun to do with all the bright colors. \

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all who visit my Blog this Christmas. I would like to remind everyone to cherish these days and create memories that will last a life time. Have a blessed holiday and rejoice in the season. Sheryl

Christmas Calendar

Image
OK. It is midnightish and I am finally done stamping the months and the dates as well as creating my layouts for the 12x12 calender I am working on as a Christmas Gift. I still have to assemble it but that won't take long. These are the first 3 layouts. I will post more as the days go by.

Flowers for a Director

Image
I know I have been lax in my blogging lately and I am sorry. I have been busy directing our Sunday School Christmas play/program for the last 6 weeks and have not had the time I wanted for all the other things that bring me joy. The play was Sunday night and was a success. The children were exceptional and the adults were wonderful! I had a great cast. The Sunday School gifted me with a beautiful Christmas arrangement for my hard work and the children gifted me with a lovely bouquet. I was very touched, it is always nice to be thanked for your hard work and willingness to give of your time. With that being said I found my Christmas Spirit this weekend. Our Pastor has been speaking on making time for Christ this season and I focused my program on that same theme and as I thought about his message and watched our play I realized that in my busyness I had not made the time to put Christ in the center of my Christmas. I was too busy trying to be perfect, too busy with my children, t

Paper bag Album

Image
If you are anything like me you have a container or two full of odds and sods of paper. The dilemma for me is always what am I to do with them? I was in JSI the other day and saw a paper bag album that they had done and thought to myself what a great way to use up leftovers but what a great little gift to give someone. They are quick to do and lots of fun.

Our Family

Image
So my mojo came roaring back to me late last night and I did another layout. That's 2 in 2 days. Look out I am on a roll. This layout came together very quickly and easily. I enjoyed creating it and I had a lot of fun doing the journalling as well. I was quite surprised when I studied these pictures to see how much the kids had grown and changed over the summer.

Blaze's Grade 4 Picture

Image
Blaze sometimes is not the most photogenic person but I thought this years school picture wasn't bad. In the end I like the layout and I like her picture. No matter what it is a layout done and a sense of accomplishment as my creative mojo has been in hiding as of late.

Harvest Crop

Image
Here are the layouts I accomplished during JSI's Harvest Crop. I had a blast and am looking forward to the Spring crop. Thank you to the staff of JSI for the fantastic job they did putting everything together and letting us all have an enjoyable and memorable weekend. Worms. MMMM... big fat juicy ones or so the poem goes. Kayne spend the better part of a beautiful spring day collecting worms. Ruby-Jean and her Oma. I loved the way this picture turned out. Blaze can be difficult to photograph. This picture just speaks to my mothers heart. Yes!! I knew it Elvis Lives!! I have the proof!!! I had so much fun at the crop weekend and Elvis was a hoot. We have a weekly family night...this means a photo op for mom and snacks and lots of fun for the kids. Yep. It's all fun and games until you get rug burn from sliding down the carpeted stairs.

Scraplifting

Image
Yes! I love the talent of Ralna at Just Scrap It!. I never would have thought of putting pink and orange together but they look amazing together. These 2 layouts are 100% scraplifted . Nothing is mine. Thanks Ralna for being a great designer and letting me "steal" your creation.

Wolfgangs Eyes

Image
Wolfgangs Eyes. What can I say. He has long lashes and deep brown eyes that I am sure will break many hearts. I took this picture one afternoon when we were just lying around having a lazy day. I know it is mothers pride but isn't he a handsome boy?

Drumheller

Image
Drumheller the land of Dinosaurs. Most of my 4x6 pictures were dark and so far away that I decided to cut some down to 2x3 and blew up one to 5x7. This gave me the best of both worlds. I was able to show case the spray park and add the interest and highlight of the big dinosaur. I was able to use 9 so-so pictures to create 1 great layout. I love how the layout turned out and I really like the color scheme. A big THANKS to Laura from JSI for helping me with the colors. You Rock! My journalling reads: Inside the mouth of the world's largest dinosaur. She stands 86 feet tall and 151 feet long. She weighs 145,000 pounds. It takes 106 steps to climb to the top...Under the black lights in her tummy...Rotary Spray Park...The sign as you enter Drumheller .

Road Trip

Image
OK. So I have finally decided to tackle my holiday pictures from 2004. These were taken before our digital camera joined the family. I am finding it hard to go back and do these pictures when I have the luxury of the digital camera now and can take as many pictures as I want until I get one I am happy with. The paper doesn't really match anything from the photos but because they are holiday pictures and the paper is so happy and fun I decided that I am going to just make this a fun and happy layout because that is how I was feeling on our holidays.

US

Image
This was taken this summer on my birthday. It is one of the few pictures of Ray and I together. The page is simple and inspired by the page Sharon did of Jade and her boyfriend. I used stickles glitter on the heart and letters. This a great product.

Kitchen Tragedy

Image
This is a picture of me scaring my child for life. Blaze cut her finger while helping me make supper and all I could do was laugh at her. She was hysterical . You would have thought she had cut off an entire limb.

Canada Goose

Image
I took these pictures down at the river in early spring. The bottom picture is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken in the last year. The Maple Leaf is made from a piece of chipboard and covered in glass tiles.

Our Graduate

Image
I am so proud of my husband for returning to school after almost 20 years. Ray enrolled in the Computer Systems Technology course at Siast 2 years ago. He Graduated in May as a Distinguished Graduate and may I add with awesome marks.

Party Girls

Image
Blaze's 8 th birthday party. The girls painted their nails, did their hair and danced the night away. The girls giggled and laughed till the wee hours of the morning. They were so busy and having so much fun we didn't even have cake that night instead I put candles in the pancakes the next morning.

Worms

Image
MMMM worms Big fat juicy worms Itsy bitsy skinny worms Yes my children collected handfuls of worms to try and scare their mother. It didn't work. They don't know this is a hereditary trait. When I was little I would fill my pockets with worms and scare my Grandma.

School Supplies

Image
OH YEA!!!School is back in session. How happy is this mom. Let's just say if I could do back flips I would be flipping all over the place. It was a long summer. The phrase "Mom I'm bored" rang out several times a day and the fighting between brothers and sisters seemed endless. I will confess in a day or two I will be missing them and won't be able to wait until the end of the day when I can go and pick them up.

Clouds

Image
The stom was just starting on Friday night when I took this. I am always in awe of nature and beauty behind everything.

OW...OW...OW

Image
Yes..I am a klutz. We were gearing up for the Air Show and of course after the rain I knew the airfield would be wet and muddy so I ran out to find some splash pants for the kids. I thought gee wouldn't it be nice if we could spend the day at the show and not be soaked and muddy when we came home. I think this was rational thinking on my part. So off I went. I found the splash pants and a couple other things and as I was rushing about I also found a puddle of water and down I went. Now those who know me know I won't blow away in gale force winds so use your imagination to picture what I looked like falling and the sounds that accompanied me. The good news is it is only a really bad sprain. My Doctor said I would have been better off breaking my ankle. He assures me that a few weeks in this contraption will do more for repairing me than having me to use crutches. I think he is afraid I might injure myself worse. This will also allow me to continue working. So all you who have a

Air Show

Image
This rocket car was so cool. The kids loved it! Gotta love the water falling from the water bomber. Here come the Snowbirds. We waited all day for them but it was so worth the wait. Unfortunately the cloud cover and gloominess of the day didn't do much for picture taking but that's OK. Flying in a stacked formation. How cool is that? Here they are all together. I tell you nothing brings our more pride in our country than seeing them soar overhead. We had the opportunity to talk to a few soldiers and pilots on Saturday and I just have to say what an amazing group of people they are. I really have to say thank you to the men and women who are defending our freedom today and those that fought for our freedom in the past. I take a lot of my freedoms for granted and I shouldn't. So here's a big HATS off and a huge THANK YOU to our Military and our Veterans.

Wolfgangs birthday

Image
I like how this page came together. I know it is a very simple layout but I have tried a couple of new techniques. Like placing a picture over the seam and then cutting it. I does add something to the page. I am trying to doodle but alas I am just not confident enough yet to try it on a grander scale but a little here and there does help to finish a page. Maybe my favorite LSS(JSI) will do a class on doodling this fall.(Hint...Hint) Anyway I do like to try new things and by doing so my confidence is building and I am getting braver, after all it is only paper. Right.

Scraproom

Image
OK. Here is my room all done and organized. Will it stay neat so I can find everything?I highly doubt it. :) I didn't take any before pictures but those of you who have been in there before know how chaotic it was.

Dragonfly

Image
We were sitting outside enjoying the evening and the dragonflies were everywhere. This one was really attracted to me I got a few dozen shots of it sitting on my hand and foot. I absolutely love this picture. It truly was a beautiful...magical... moment.

shelf

Image
I am re-something my craft room this week. I had a little shelf that i considered boring so I did ...well I don't really know what to call what I did. I used lots of paper scraps and odds and ends I had. I think it looks kind of cute now. Yes I am a bonehead I forgot to take before pictures oh well.
