Prairie Mermaid

Image
This was a fun page to create. I used Graphic 45 papers and a Tape Transfer Technique to create this page. I used  self-adhesive Laminate instead of tape because I wanted a 12x12 piece. I adhered it to my paper then soaked it in warm water for a minute or two and then carefully rubbed the paper away until I was left with a transparent patterned paper. I then glued it to another piece of paper to get the ripple effect of water underneath. It was a fun page to make. Stop by Just Scrap It and take a look.

OPA

Image
Opa is German for Grandfather. My Father-in-law has the gentlest spirit. I have never heard him raise is voice or speak in anger to anyone. He is sooooooo patient. He lives for his Grandchildren and loves to sit back and laugh at their antics. This photo of Opa and our youngest really captures these qualities. It is a photo that I love to look at.  **my camera did not want to cooperate when I was trying to photograph this LO-sorry for the poor quality.

She's got LASHES

Image
A page full of BoBunny goodness. This is my youngest child. She has some of the most fantastic eyelashes I have ever seen. They are long and thick and black. She's 5 and she already knows how to use them. :) Boysenberry Dot cardstock PP is the Sophie line unknown bling swirls ribbon from my stash handmade flowers from the paper scraps

Discovery

Image
I love how this page turned out. It is so bright and summery. I used a Hambly overlay on this page. I "fussy" cut the swirls off the overlay so I could place them exactly where I wanted them. I used a Fiskars border punch for the edging.

Butterflies

Image
I used a Heidi Swapp butterfly mask and inked over it. I then took some Shimmerz and brushed that on. Stamped the title with StazOn ink. The black card stock was edged using my Fiscars scissors  and a Hambly overlay finishes off the page. Quick, simple fun. The photo was taken at the Fireworks Festival last year. Scyap Inc. did the face painting. They were amazing.

The Patience of a child

Image
I printed the same picture 3 times and pop dotted the center picture for dimension and interest.I stamped the flowers and title and pop dotted those as well. Cosmo and Scenic Route paper strips for the background and it's a page completed. I love how this page turned out. I included a picture showing the dimension on this page.

Ruby's 4th Birthday

Image
We celebrated Ruby-Jean's birthday a little early. Her "real" day is next Saturday and she will be 4.She asked for a Princess party so I tried to give her a little of that. We went shopping and picked out some balloons and napkins and party hats. I wanted to keep it pretty low key and thankfully she was thrilled with all that I let her pick out. She had her Oma and Opa here for the day but I think the highlight of her day was when her "special" friend came. We will call him W. I forgot to ask his mom if I could post his picture but I'll tell you all about it. W and Ruby are as thick as thieves. Ruby calls W her "boyfriend" it really is quite cute but I think it may distress W a little. He knew exactly what she would love for a gift (thanks W's mom) and he made her Birthday card himself and wrote in it. It was way too cute. Ruby gave W a huge hug after opening her gift and reading her card. Lets just say it was adorable. Being a man though he w...

BFF

Image
This is a very simple page done about Ruby-Jean and her Best Friend Forever, Auria.

Melts in your Mouth

Image
This page was done for the Creative Idol Contest on Just Cre 8. The challenge was to scrap a slogan. I did the M&M"S "Melts in your mouth not in your hands." I like the page and really had fun cre 8 ing it.

Mud

Image
Ruby-Jean thought that it was a good idea to taste mud. Now she knows it doesn't taste very good.lol.

Spin

Image
I love garage sales. I can find some great things like this ballerina/princess outfit. Ruby-Jean found it and wanted it immediately I figures for $o.50 how could I go wrong? She wears it all the time. Sometimes as PJ's, sometimes as a dance costume, sometimes just to feel pretty.

My Socks Are Broken

Image
Our Ruby-Jean comes up with some of the cutest phrases. We were sitting at supper one night when she looked down at her sock and declared" My Socks Are Broken" . They had fallen down and were somewhat srunched. It was a photo that had to be taken.

Corn

Image
RUby-Jean having her forst corn on the cob. She wasn't sure how to go about eating it at first. She kept licking it like a lolli pop.

Freedom

Image
This page is scraplifted from a very talented lady on SIStv . I loved her page and had to make one of my own. I am thrilled with how it turned out. I used Misty Breeze Glimmer Mist to colour my lace and some of my flowers. This is Ruby-Jeans new bike that we bought this Spring and boy can she go on it. It really is freedom for her because now she can keep up w ith Blaze and the boys.

I'm Free

Image
Well my baby turned three on Friday. I celebrated this day with mixed emotions. I am so not ready to no longer have a baby in the house. I can't believe that Ruby-Jean is three. She's my Baby and has grown up so fast. I think this has something to do with having 3 older siblings. She is in fact racing thru her toddler years and heading for her teens at breakneck speed. She is my clown she makes me laugh. She lightens my worries and stresses with a hug and an "I Love You Mommy". She is spoiled by everyone in this house but that's ok. She's the baby and we love her. Happy Birthday Baby. Please stay little just a little longer ok?

MMMMud

Image
So the other day the kids were outside playing while I fixed supper and apparently Ruby-Jean was hungry. I have no idea as to what possessed her to eat mud but she did. I laughed my butt off when she informed me that dirt tastes yucky.

This is what SAD looks like!!!!!!!!

Image
Our Ruby-Jean, what can we say about her? Well she is the baby of the family and knows how to work it. One night at supper she hadn't finished eating but still wanted dessert. When we said she needed to clean her plate this was the response we got. What a face.

Harvest Crop

Image
Here are the layouts I accomplished during JSI's Harvest Crop. I had a blast and am looking forward to the Spring crop. Thank you to the staff of JSI for the fantastic job they did putting everything together and letting us all have an enjoyable and memorable weekend. Worms. MMMM... big fat juicy ones or so the poem goes. Kayne spend the better part of a beautiful spring day collecting worms. Ruby-Jean and her Oma. I loved the way this picture turned out. Blaze can be difficult to photograph. This picture just speaks to my mothers heart. Yes!! I knew it Elvis Lives!! I have the proof!!! I had so much fun at the crop weekend and Elvis was a hoot. We have a weekly family night...this means a photo op for mom and snacks and lots of fun for the kids. Yep. It's all fun and games until you get rug burn from sliding down the carpeted stairs.

How many fingers?

This is our Ruby-Jean on her 2 nd Birthday. I can't believe my baby is 2. I am not ready for her to be all grown up. I enjoy motherhood and wish I could just keep them little a little longer.
